From my youth I have been interested in collecting traps. In 2004, I decided to make my own replica antique bear trap. The question then became, “how big?” The result was a 32’ long bear trap weighing roughly 5,000 pounds. To our knowledge, this is the world’s largest replica bear trap. It was built by hand with only a torch and welder in my 400 square foot garage. Since the investment in materials was significant, I incorporated under the name Edvantage Inc., with the plan to eventually sell this trap to a tourist related business as an advertising tool. Instead, it has become my advertising. When I placed it on my lawn with a snowmobile trapped in the jaws, it became a Yooper Legend. (see links).

By word of mouth, small fabrication, machining and welding projects started coming in, and in 2007, we moved into our current facility on US 41 in Chassell.

We are a machining/welding /prototype shop. We can design, build or repair anything from big traps and complicated production equipment to simple repairs on snowplows etc. We can truly say no job too big, no job too small.
