Current NewsletterFrom my youth I have been interested in collecting traps. In 2004, I decided to make my own replica antique bear trap. The question then became, “how big?” The result was a 32’ long bear trap weighing roughly 5,000 pounds. To our knowledge, this is the world’s largest replica bear trap. It was built by hand with only a torch and welder in my 400 square foot garage. Since the investment in materials was significant, I incorporated under the name Edvantage Inc., with the plan to eventually sell this trap to a tourist related business as an advertising tool. Instead, it has become my advertising. When I placed it on my lawn with a snowmobile trapped in the jaws, it became a Yooper Legend. (see links). Ed Sauvola
